Islamic Studies Course
“Acquire knowledge, and learn tranquility and dignity.” (Sayyidina Umar Ibn Al-Khattab RA)
In the midst of an era of ignorance, Islam dignified omen in society by elevating them and equipping them with exceptional rights. The right of education was granted equally to men and women alike by the greatest man on earth, Prophet Muhammad (SAW). In the 7th Century, the last and final Prophet of Allah (SAW) declared,
طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ
“The pursuit of knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim”. (Sunan Ibn Majah 224)
This statement was not only directed towards Muslim men, but it was also addressed to every believing man and woman that they pursue the path of knowledge. Sayyidah Ai’shah (RA), the beloved wife of the Prophet (SAW) is famously held as one of the most influential scholars in the history of Islam.
